Shuchaku East celebrates one year!

Yep, it's been exactly one year since I first signed in to Blogger and hammered out a draft of something about manga. Thanks go out to all the folks who commented, linked, spammed my inbox, sent me pre-release books, sent their PR departments after me, bore with me as I left to live in Japan [and subsequently came back too], disagreed with me, and even translated the scant work I do here into other languages. I enjoy the view from my soapbox immensely; here's to you, the folks who make it one hell of a view to look at.

Of course, no blog anniversary is complete without freebies. I'm going to offer you a gratis copy of what is without a doubt the best-book-of-2007-that-no-one-read; even if David Welsh couldn't convince you to shell out for copy of "Town of Evening Calm, Country of Cherry Blossoms," I'll take it upon myself to ship you one fo' free.
Yes, that's right; free.
Shoot me an email [the address is in the top right of this page, for those of you lacking observational skills] with your name and address, and you're entered to win. I'll be drawing lots next Thursday, meaning, please have your email to me by 12pm E.S.T. Wednesday to be entered. Who knows, you very well might walk away with 104 pages of Fumiyo Kouno goodness.
